TFS Bug Item Synchronizer 1.1 for Mercury Quality Center is now Available

We are happy to announce, that next version of synchronizer between Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) bug items and Mercury Quality Center defects is now available.

What this does is

  1. For every selected defect for synchronization in TestDirector / Quality Center, it creates matching bug item in TFS (with a http link to original defect)
  2. For every selected bug item in TFS, it creates matching defect in TestDirector / Quality Center
  3. For every defect updated in TestDirector / Quality Center, it updates matching bug item in TFS
  4. For every update in TFS, it updates matching defect in TestDirector / Quality Center accordingly
  5. Offers also possibility to link one TFS bug item into many TestDirector / Quality Center defects (inside same project or in different projects, does not really matter) and update all related TestDirector / Quality Center defects when TFS bug is updated

New added functionality is that you can create defects from TFS bug items and that you can have default values for fields as well.

All these actions are done on the background by this integration, tester does not need to have Team Foundation System Client installed nor developer any TestDirector / Quality Center components.

Works with

  • Mercury Quality Center 9.0
  • Mercury TestDirector 8.0 and Quality Center 8.2.
  • Microsoft Team Foundation Server

Synchronizer can be downloaded from here: TFS Bug Item Synchronizer for Mercury Quality Center and TestDirector Defects

Is there a way to map functional test requirements from QuickTest Pro Test Results to Team Foundation Server (TFS) to track coverage for Requirements Trace Ability? I know this can be done with TestDirector/Quality Center (TD/QC), but since we are a Microsoft shop and our Functional Test Requirements are already in TFS, using TD/QC is not an option...
