I am working in test director 8.0. Consider a situation, in Test Lab window, i have a folder which contains many test sets which in turn have many testcases in different status levels. Is it possible to export all the test cases in the entire folder into an excel file?

Yes, this is possible using General Reporting. See simple example in Export Test Cases with Design Steps into Excel.
